Sukanta Bhattacharya was born on August 15, 1926. He was known as ‘Young Nazrul’ and ‘Kishore Bidrohi Kobi’. Some of his literary pieces are Chharpatra, Ghum Nei, Purbabhas, Abhijan, Mithe-Kadha, Hartal, and Giti Guccha.
Although Sukanta's works were not well known while he was alive, they gained notoriety after his passing. He died at the age of 21 suffering from tuberculosis. Although he would produce even greater works in the future, his current works have left a significant literary legacy in Bengali, making him one of the most well-known Bengali poets of the 20th century.
