Abul Asad is a renowned author and cultural activist of Bangladesh. He was born in August, 1942 in Rajshahi of Bangladesh. He had developed a passion for writing during his schooldays and began penning many articles. He is a strong proponent of Islamic ideology and it has been reflected in many of his writings. He has been the editor of ‘The Daily Sangram’, probably the oldest daily esteemed of Bangladesh. Asad has devoted most of the time of his life in brainstorming ideas to present his Islamic thought process in literary context. His most notable work is ‘Saimum Series’, which is a thriller series that has been mixed up with Islamic morality. This series was started in 1972 and till now 62 novels of the series have been published. His other important books are ‘Eksho Bochorer Rajniti’, ‘Ekush Shotoker Agenda’, ‘Somoyer Shakkhi’ and many others. He has made a good impression as a brilliant journalist with his sub-editorial ‘Durbin’. Amid many persecutions he has been able to sustain his own literary excellence in the cultural world of Bangladesh.
