Anisul Hoque is an eminent name in the modern literary and cultural world of Bangladesh. He was born in 1965 in Nilphamari district of Bangladesh. An alumni of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Hoque had developed a keen interest in journalism when he was a student. His passion for writing obligated him to leave government service. This paved the way for him to outclass his Civil Engineering career as a writer. His famous novels are ‘Maa’, ‘Nandini’, ‘Kheya’, ‘Ondhokarer Eksho Bochhor’ etc. He has written script for movies like ‘Television’, ‘Bachelor’, ‘Third Person Singular Number’ and so on. He gave special attention to enrich his journalism mindset that helped him to be an associate editor of ‘Prothom Alo’, the most popular daily esteemed of Bangladesh. He is presently working in this position and is also associated with ‘Kishor Alo’, a monthly magazine for youths. He has been honored with Bangla Academy Literary Award in 2011 for his relentless effort for elevating the Bengali literature.
